Macleod Cottage

Macleod Cottage offers day, short-term, overnight and emergency respite care for older people living with dementia, and their families.

Located in Melbourne’s outer north-east, Macleod Cottage offers vital support to the carers of people living with dementia.

Macleod Cottage provides opportunities for people with dementia to be fulfilled in mind, body and spirit, in a safe and welcoming home environment. The service offers carers or family members the chance to have a day off here and there, or even return to work in some capacity.

The cottage is a small, homelike environment that caters for up to six people at a time.

Macleod Cottage not only benefits carers; it also benefits the person you support by giving them the opportunity to:

  • meet new friends
  • learn new hobbies or enjoy favourite activities
  • keep in practice with daily living skills
  • take part in activities to promote wellbeing.

No Aged Care Assessment Services (ACAS) assessment is required if you are paying privately for respite care at home or accessing the Macleod Cottage Respite Service.

For more information about the Macleod Cottage Respite Service, please contact the cottage.
